Hello, my name is Jetta Seboly, and I teach a fully supported, lab-based, online high school physics course for homeschool families.
My physics course features daily online interaction through written morning messages and problem solving practices. It also includes optional live class meetings held weekly via the course website (Wednesdays at 10 a.m. or 12 noon CT). This site is password protected and allows each student to take online quizzes and tests and upload lab reports and project pictures as well as access a regularly updated grade book.
Although the course is designed for 8th-12th grades, younger students may be admitted on a case-by-case basis. Successful completion of Algebra I is required before admission into the class. Although I use a conceptual physics text as a spine, the ancillary materials include extensive algebraic-based problem solving, so mathematical maturity is essential.
This physics course is ideal for both the STEM-minded student who will take more physics (i.e AP Physics or dual enrollment) later in high school or for the more humanities-minded student who desires a basic physics credit.
Tuition is $425 plus a non-refundable registration fee of $75. Families are responsible for obtaining the text and lab supplies. Depending upon what you already have on hand, these supplies may cost approximately $125. I try to keep lab costs as low as possible while still providing a worthwhile and valuable lab experience.
